Restoration Projects

Below are examples of some of the works we have recently undertaken. Further examples are available.

The Regal, Wells, Somerset

Wells Stained Glass (formerly Wessex Conservation) played a major part in the rejuvenation of this much loved, yet previously neglected local landmark. We restored the surviving art deco stained and leaded windows, including making new panels, matching glass and lead. The restoration project won a prestigious William Stansell/Somerset Building Preservation Trust Award.

St. John the Baptist Church, Frome, Somerset

Recording, removing and packaging for storage the 19th century pictorial stained glass window situated within the West End of St. John the Baptist.

The Coombe, Walcombe, Wells, Somerset

Restoring leaded quarry windows throughout this notable building and conserving the pictorial, enamel collection.

First Church of Christ The Scientist, Bournemouth, Dorset

Restoring and re-glazing early 20th century metal framed windows, containing coloured leaded glass in geometric designs, within the auditorium, readers' rooms and throughout the building.

The Merchant's House, No. 8 Market Place, Shepton Mallet, Somerset

Eighty new leaded lights and twenty seven new metal casements fitted throughout this major conservation project. Featured on BBC2 television's Restore to Glory and winner of the prestigious William Stansell/Somerset Building Preservation Trust Award.
